Old Line Drawing
Came across this old spandangled piece of work the other day and it’s got me inspired and excited and all that gooey stuff. Let’s get the pens out I say, shall we??

I won’t be needing to convince myself of why I should be eating pink food. Pink is incredible. It is fluffy and fun, playful, and pretty. Tickling non-stop. Extreme unending sillyness, its pretty flirtacious. It believes in fairytales. It knows its worth. It believes in itself- it doesn’t try to hide away in the corner. It can be intense, highly energetic, VIBRANT. Out of all the colours its probably my favourite because its fun, and it just doesn’t care what the other colours think- not one bit.

Think of green as the foundation. It is all over nature, in plants and trees, on hilltops and through forests, it is the smell of fresh air, the smell of freshly cut grass. The fundamental roots of health start here. Think of it as a nutrient dense elixir rapidly coursing through the body, revitalising, rejuvenating, producing new life to your tired, dull, aching frame. Every morning as you drink your green juice, you are directly feeeeeding your skin. Neglecting this habit would be a mistake- you’re skin can’t heal itself without the correct nutrients. Its the same as neglecting nature. Without a daily intake of fresh air and a wander outdoors I find myself feeling claustrophobic. I’m sure this is related to the fact our bodies cannot produce vitamin D (the happy vitamin)- the sun is a significant source of it- and we must get outside to claim it. Fresh air is quite literally linked to our happiness.
Green foods especially dark green leafy vegetables are low in sugar (keeping you on an emotional even keel), high in fibre (no more nasty constipation for you!) and full of water (keeping you hydrated, score!) They also have healing properties due to the phytonutrients they possess.
“Enjoy breathing.” Julia Hendrickson
“You create your own calm.”
“BREATHE. And release anything that does not serve you.”
“The grass isn’t greener on the other side. Its green where you water it.”
To change it up a bit…leave out the water in your daily green smoothie (basic recipe here). Instead- start it off with a citrus base. Squeeze a whole load of oranges and if you want some tang- squeeze some lemon or lime in as well. Pour into your Vitamix (or high powered blender) and proceed with the rest of your ingredients as normal.
I’m not sure why I am fascinated by eyebrows. What is it about the brow that is so alluring? It does feel that a good set of eyebrows can be the start and end of your beauty routine, but I don’t know why. I can think of three sets of brows that captured me on my brow journey: Mary-Kate qand Ashley Olsen and Brooke Shields. I remember being blown away by Brooke’s stunning beauty in particular- her eyebrows. My eyebrows have always been an odd shape, short and bushy in irregular places, but not thick. Oddly shaped and sparse, a thicker brow end than anyone would care to have. So despite adoring Brooke’s thick ones and yearning for Mary-Kate’s naturally unkempt beauties, I found myself with hand on tweezers furiously plucking. I’d come to the conclusion at the grand old age of 14 that eyebrows should have an arch and that hairs that were out of place were a big no-no. If Marty McFly ever lets me use his time machine, I know exactly what I’d do first- go back to the 90s to hide all my Mum’s tweezers. If I’d only seen the beauty of my unique, natural brow and stopped listening to every piece of eyebrow advice I came across I wouldn’t have been so confused and I wouldn’t have had the chance to completely sabotage my two furry friends.
There were Two Things I did Wrong:
If I was to give my 14-year old self advice it would be this: Eyebrows come in all shapes and sizes naturally, like fingerprints they are unique. Appreciate them as they are and go get some brow powder to play about with instead.
Eyebrow trends have been about since the dawn of time, but messing with your eyebrow shape can cause lack of grow back- you may end up with really strange lookin’ brows. You simply can’t stay on top of eyebrow trends, your eyebrows won’t let you. So instead, my plan is to leave my eyebrows alone- plucking far away from my brows, only rejecting the very very stray hairs.
Treat Your Furry Friends with a little Love & Respect:
Experiment with a selection of shades, use feathery strokes slowly built up, go for subtle lines over block colours and do not underestimate the use of a barely there powered brush.

This look is strong. It could be too harsh if used in the wrong circumstances. I would only use this look at night, when you have a full face of make-up to balance out the strength of these power brows.

Its about to get messy. This look is not for the faint hearted.

Education is necessary in the diet changing game, but it doesn’t just come down to that. I know what I should and should not be eating, I am fully aware of the evil of refined and why we should eat all the ‘colours of the rainbow’. I still gorge on things I know I shouldn’t. Why is this? I’m sure there are many reasons. But I believe the biggest is perception. Its not just about getting educated about nutrition, we need to get excited about healthy food, get a taste for these new flavours. As we continue to pursue a new healthy diet, our bodies will realign themselves. Instead of trying and failing to fill ourselves up with ‘empty calories’, the right diet won’t make you feel hungry or starved of nutrients. The whole foods will fill your body up and give you tons of energy. As we start to feel more satisfied, we will start to feel better emotionally, physically and mentally. We will start to see ourselves in a happier, more beautiful light.
Body: Tight, STRONG body with as much curve as I can naturally build on my straight up and down frame.
Clothing: To inspire exercise- hoard hundreds of workout outfits, for every different sport.
Bronzed: Don’t all fitness babes have an enviable glow?
Environment: This is super important. Surrounding yourself with pleasurable places will make exercise less of a ‘should do’ more of a ‘please PLEASE let me squat now!!’ In fact- this may be the key to changing your whole attitude towards exercise.
Sport: Make a wide range of sport an integral part of your life. Weights, Pilates, Stretching, Running, Gymnastics, Boxing, Dancing. Its your lifestyle. An enjoyable hobby, NOT a chore.
Trust me, getting there- reaching your health goals- takes timmmmmmmmmmmme. Just look at all my cooking efforts from circa 2011 until now. And I’ve still a long way to go.
Don’t. Give. Up.
